The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Diseases is seeking to fill a full-time (100% FTE) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position to provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care to our subspecialty pulmonary outpatient population. Primary responsibilities will include clinical services and care coordination at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, specifically the pulmonary sarcoidosis and interstitial lung disease team. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will facilitate the delivery of care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations, as an independent provider in the ambulatory sites.
Essential Functions
- Perform appropriate history and physical for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
- Participate in research and development projects.
- Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students.

Minimum Requirements
Nurse Practitioner:
Required Education
Master’s degree from accredited nursing program.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority
Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.
Required Experience
Three (3) years nursing experience.

Physician Assistant:
Required Education
Master’s degree from accredited Physician Assistant program.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Required Experience
One (1) year experience.
