Medical administrative assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to support our mental healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will have experience in medical office settings and be proficient in various electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

This role involves managing administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and facilitating effective communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Many times will be working independently in our Parma, Ohio medical office.

Duties

• Perform medical administrative support tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
• Process insurance verifications and assist with medical billing and coding using CPT coding systems.
• Review documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Maintain organized medical records and filing systems to facilitate easy access to patient information.
• Utilize EMR systemst.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient service and care coordination.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:

• Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management, and dental terminology is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong computer skills are essential.
• Experience IN SCHEDULING
• Knowledge of medical coding practices and experience with documentation review is desirable.
• Experience as a medical receptionist or front desk staff is beneficial.
• Strong clerical skills including typing (10 key typing preferred).
