Product specialist - contractor

Product Specialist: Medina


Duties and responsibilities
Collaborate with sales and marketing to establish strong vendor relationships, identify and research new product and market opportunities, identify products for promotions.
Continuously assess the quality of vendor relationships, manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to engage with new vendors
Purchase products to replenish inventory at fair market prices
Identify opportunities and work with manager to purchase ahead of price increases, pre-season buy-ins, buying group promotions and larger stock buys to obtain major discounts
Negotiates best possible prices from manufacturers and vendors for new and current inventory
Negotiate and monitor vendor rebates
Purchases special order products for specific customers from assigned vendors
Authorizes cost overrides on sales orders where appropriate
Authorize debit memos against incorrect invoices for Accounts Payable
Provide sales with product information and estimates of product availability
Analyze new inventory item requests and facilitate new product on-boarding process
Continuously monitor inventory movement and levels for assigned product lines and help drive decisions on the right quantity and mix of inventory
Identify slow moving and obsolete inventory and develop strategies with sales and marketing to move material and maximize profit/minimize losses
Assist purchasing administrator with Expediting purchase orders when necessary
Maintains system information, including but not limited to pricing and item information
Communicate product updates and changes through Wolff Notes or other company forums that are applicable
Communicate manufacturing issues, delays, price changes, and recalls to sales and quotes
Work with Receiving department to answer incoming shipment related questions
Assist Returns Department with stock rotations, special order returns, warranties and vendor recall procedures
Other duties as assigned
