School PsychologistReports to: Superintendent or designeeEmployment Status: Part-timeFLSA Status: ExemptPer Salary Schedule Related, unless otherwise determined by the Superintendent.______________________________________________________________________________QUALIFICATIONSMasters DegreeValid Ohio School Psychologist Certificate/LicenseNational Certified School Psychologist Association (preferred)Must pass a criminal background checkCurrent drivers license and reliable transportationGENERAL DESCRIPTIONUnder administrative direction, the school psychologist contributes to required evaluations of children with special needs or disabilities and other non-identified children with suspected special needs or disabilities; interprets evaluation results; participates in the determination of eligibility for special education; and consults with families, teachers, and administrators relating to the education and/or mental health of children. The school psychologist may provide support as an Integrated-Multi-Tiered System of Supports (I-MTSS) Team Member on the districts I-MTSS team and may work with the Early Childhood Community Partners to provide support in a team approach.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides intensive psycho-educational evaluation and assessment of individual children identified as/or thought to have a disability.Contributes to the written report of the evaluation team, delineating the results of the psycho-educational evaluation and assessment for consideration in the development of the individualized educational plan for each child studied.Contributes, as a part of the multidisciplinary team, a multi-factored evaluation utilizing diagnostic instruments and techniques appropriate for the area of disability or suspected disability.Consults with teachers, parents/guardians, and other educational personnel on matters relating to the education and/or mental health of children to ensure the provision of the most appropriate education program.Counsels individually and in small groups with children and/or their parents/guardians; counseling shall be accompanied by written procedures which include the intake interview, the structure of counseling, and criteria for selection.Maintains an adequate system of documentation and recordkeeping.Serves as a consultant to the schools in the development of education evaluation and accountability procedures, pupil and personnel policies, in-service activities, curriculum, and staff development.Assists educational staff in implementing or modifying instructional strategies, classroom management procedures, intervention strategies, and follow-up activities.Provides referral to and consultation with outside service agencies.Assists in early childhood and kindergarten assessment programs.Comprehension of Google Workspace for Education applications.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Attends appropriate local and state workshops/professional development meetings.Performs all duties in conformity to the adopted Vision and Mission statements.Displays professional appearance.Maintains required certificate(s) and/or license.Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.Safeguards confidentiality of privileged information.Fully understands and abides by the Ohio Revised Codes regulations for reporting child abuse and/or neglect.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and superintendent, to include but not limited to additional training.Completes Medicaid billing on behalf of the partner school district.May participate in Part C to Part B Meetings when Early Intervention refers to the Local Education Agency before a childs third birthday.Serves on the districts Integrated-Multi-Tiered System of Supports (I-MTSS) Team, when needed.Works with Early Childhood Community Partners, when needed.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of: Board policies and procedures; state and federal special education regulations; special needs diagnostic instruments and techniques; appropriate special education programs; outside service agencies; counseling; in-service education programs; public relations; individualized educational plans.Skill in: ESC adopted productivity software (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint); Internet; e-mail; WISC IV; WAIS 4; Stanford Binet V.Ability to: Interpret federal, state and local policies, procedures, and regulation; develop individual educational plans; administer multi-factored evaluations and interpret test results; make appropriate special needs placements; provide consultation; prepare reports; maintain records; counsel; develop a rapport with students, parents/guardians, staff, and administrators; communicate effectively; utilize diagnostic instruments; lift/move up to eighty (80) pounds.EQUIPMENT OPERATED: ESC and district-provided equipment (e.g. printer, copier, scanner, laminator, calculator, fax machine, postage meter, phone system, audio visual equipment); WISC IV; WAIS-4; Stanford Binet V.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As per the Southern Ohio Educational Service Centers Board of Education Policy Manual.PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: As per the Southern Ohio Educational Service Centers Board of Education Policy Manual.________________________________________________________________________The SOESC Board of Education is an equal opportunity employer.
