Job Description
Join our team as a Tractor Trailer Mechanic, where you will perform preventative and reactive repairs on tractors and trailers. Your role will involve conducting preventive maintenance tasks, engine work, and using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, filters, and tire inspections.
- Conduct engine work such as replacing alternators, starters, and brakes.
- Perform MIG/Stick welding on components like mud-flaps and brackets.
- Use a torch and grinder for necessary repairs.
- Utilize a laptop for engine diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Track work using internal Transman (TMT) software.
Essential Skills
- Experience in trailer repair and maintenance on trailers, semis, or tractors.
- Proficiency in using power and hand tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment via laptop.
- Experience with diesel engines and electrical systems.
- MIG/Stick welding skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance on trailers or semis.
- Experience with clutches, brakes, wheel seals, and suspension.
- Refrigeration license is a plus.
- Experience working on refrigerated units.

Work Environment
Our facilities are located in Minooka, focusing primarily on trailer work, and another location specializing in engine and body work for tractors. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, requiring candidates to move trailers and tractors from the yard. Facilities are equipped with 2-3 bays, and candidates must provide their own steel-toed boots.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minooka, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $34.00/hr.
