Junior Estimator

Martin Painting & Coating is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to support our New Construction Team. This role is ideal for someone early in their construction career who is ready to learn, grow, and take on estimating responsibilities within a supportive, employee-owned company. Some prior experience in construction or estimating is preferred experience in paint estimating is a plus.

About the Role

In this position, you will work closely with our New Construction Team to assist with estimating tasks such as takeoffs, pricing, proposal preparation, and project documentation and follow up. You will provide essential support to ensure our new construction projects are accurately scoped and competitively bid. This role offers hands-on skill development and a clear growth path into an Estimator role.

What You’ll Do

• Assist the New Construction Team with quantity takeoffs, measurements, and scope reviews
• Support the preparation of estimates, pricing, and bid proposals
• Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and addendums
• Communicate with general contractors, vendors, and internal operations staff
• Help maintain bid calendars, project tracking, and organized documentation
• Participate in handoff meetings to ensure accurate project transitions
• Learn MPC’s systems, software tools, and best practices for construction estimating

What We’re Looking For

• Some experience in construction or estimating (paint estimating a bonus)
• Ability to read or willingness to learn to read blueprints
• Strong math, measurement, and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• A desire to grow into a full Estimator role
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
