Job Title: Sensory Lab Coordinator
Job Description
The Sensory Lab Coordinator is responsible for organizing, implementing, and maintaining Sensory Lab programs and documentation. This role ensures a safe and efficient workspace for conducting sensory tests and oversees sample management. The coordinator serves as the main contact for Sensory Technicians during test execution and supports continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities- Implement good laboratory practices and safe behavior, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Monitor maintenance programs to ensure sensory equipment and facilities are clean, organized, operational, and properly calibrated.
- Maintain inventory of sensory lab materials and order supplies to ensure operational continuity.
- Create and maintain documentation for sensory lab procedures and best practices.
- Support Sensory Product Experience Manager in evolving sensory lab practices.
- Manage sensory product reception, storage, inventory, and disposal.
- Assist Sensory Specialists with test creation in sensory software and launch IT sessions.
- Coordinate panel instructions with Sensory Specialists and Technicians during sensory studies.
- Assist with sensory training, glossary development, and related activities.
- Coordinate and assist with sensory panel recruitment activities.
- Work with IT to set up equipment for new sensory panelists.
- Prepare monthly reports on resource utilization for services provided to business partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience in driving initiatives to successful completion.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- College-level Sensory Science coursework is a plus.
- Sensory lab experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in sensory software is a plus.
- Flexible work hours as required by the business.
- Collaborative attitude and willingness to learn and share knowledge.
The position involves working in a panel lab and panel testing room equipped with ovens, microwaves, and other kitchen appliances. It offers a great opportunity for growth within the organization.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.75 - $22.75/hr.
