Purchasing Manager

We are actively seeking a Purchasing Manager in the Columbus, OH area to join our award WINNING team.

What You Will Do:
- You will lead the Purchasing team, and assure continuous development of the team for outstanding performance
- You will utilize purchasing transactions according to Company policies and procedures
- You will purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information
- You will identify and select suppliers on criteria including price, quantity, quality, and delivery date
- You will read, interpret, and analyze supplier terms and conditions for the most favorable results for the Company
- You will interpret, train, and communicate purchasing procedures to the team and/or other functional areas
- You will assist the team on requisitions and orders, and solve problems with purchase orders
- You will analyze bids, quotes, and proposals; prepare/present to the team and make recommendations to award contracts
- You will negotiate major purchasing contracts, blanket orders and long term purchase agreements
- You will analyze marketing forecasts to identify and plan for anticipated material requirements or cost variances.
- You will directly supervise 1-3 employees
- You will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws
- Your supervisory responsibilities will include training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- You will perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university.
- Minimum 5-years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a corporate environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Background in electrical construction
