We are looking to add a Mortgage Location Survey Drafter to our team to help manage our growing business across Ohio. We are looking to employ a motivated individual who is self-starting and wants to be a part of building the best drafting team in the Surveying industry. This is a hybrid role based out of our Wickliffe, Ohio office. Hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm EST. This role is responsible for producing accurate and detailed drawings and survey documents of real estate properties for mortgage purposes. This includes reviewing and reconciling discrepancies between collected field data and existing survey or record documentation. While basic drafting may be involved, the critical responsibility lies in validating and aligning information from multiple sources to support accurate project outcomes.

No experience is necessary! We have an in house training program to train from scratch.
Rate of pay for new hires with no drafting experience is $17/hr. Higher rates available with previous survey drafting experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Uses computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create accurate and detailed survey drawings showing property boundaries and all major improvements on subject properties.
  • Interpret and analyze field data, survey results, and available record information to ensure accuracy and consistency with field crew observations.
  • Verifies all recorded and county information correlates with legal description information provided by the client.
  • Complete basic and complex residential and commercial mortgage location surveys without supervision.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Pulling or requesting additional research when necessary.
  • Submitting work directly to the surveyor for final review.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other team members to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong math/computational skills
  • CAD software and other architectural drafting tools experience is not required but preferred.
  • Interest in surveying/drafting
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret survey information, field crew sketches, county information, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of related experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
