The E-Commerce Sales Representative is responsible for driving online sales of overhead cranes, hoists, crane components, parts, and related services while maintaining oversight of website product content and accuracy. This role combines technical sales support with digital platform management to ensure customers receive accurate information, fast quoting, and a seamless online purchasing experience.
Pay: $60k-$65k
Role & Responsibilities
E-Commerce Sales & Customer Support
- Manage inbound online inquiries, quote requests, and web-generated leads.
- Provide accurate and timely technical quotations for cranes, hoists, and parts.
- Follow up on abandoned carts, open quotes, and digital leads to drive conversion.
- Assist customers with product selection, load capacity requirements, and application questions.
- Coordinate with engineering and operations for custom or complex orders.
Web Content Oversight
- Maintain and update product listings, specifications, pricing, and images on the company’s e-commerce platform.
- Ensure technical accuracy of load ratings, configurations, compliance standards, and product descriptions.
- Identify and correct errors in product data to reduce incorrect orders.
- Collaborate with purchasing and vendors to keep pricing and availability current.
- Recommend improvements to website usability, navigation, and product organization.
Sales & Operations Coordination
- Work closely with inside and outside sales teams to support the quoting and order process.
- Collaborate with purchasing to verify lead times and supplier pricing.
- Ensure smooth transition of orders from online checkout or quote to fulfillment.
- Monitor orders through delivery and communicate proactively with customers.
- Serves as a backup support for company Buyer positions as necessary.
Digital Performance & Growth
- Track online sales metrics including conversion rates, quote-to-order ratios, and revenue growth.
- Support marketing initiatives such as promotions, featured products, and email campaigns.
- Provide feedback on customer behavior and website performance to improve the user experience.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE: 2–5+ years of sales experience, preferably in industrial equipment, material handling, or manufacturing.
SKILLS:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms, ERP systems, and CRM software.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret equipment specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
