Gifted Intervention Specialist K-5 - Coldwater E.V. Schools
Full Time K-5 Gifted Intervention Specialist - Coldwater E. V. Schools 2026-2027 school year.Summary: The Gifted Intervention Specialist/MTSS Coordinator should be dedicated to supporting the MCESC mission of providing high-quality cooperative services that positively impact the diverse educational needs of students, staff, and community. The Gifted Intervention Specialist should also believe all students are valued, can learn and grow, and will become successful and independent adults.Duties: -Demonstrate broad subject matter competence and teaching proficiency.
Use teaching strategies that stimulate interest, enthusiasm, and curiosity while addressing individual learning patterns.-Ensure the learning process is guided toward the gifted program's adopted curricular goals and objectives.-Establish an environment for gifted students that encourages independent learning and group problem-solving skills.-Prepare and carry out clear, usable, and sequential daily lesson plans. Research and prepare appropriate educational materials for gifted students.-Provide close supervision and take reasonable precautions to ensure student safety.-Stay up to date and utilize innovations in technology.-MTSS Coordinator-Coordinate and support implementation of MTSS academic and behavioral systems across all elementary grade levels.-Oversee collection, organization, and analysis of student academic and behavioral data used for instructional decision-making.-Manage universal screening procedures, including assessment schedules, administration timelines, and data review processes.-Ensure fidelity and consistency of screening, progress monitoring, and intervention practices.-Meet regularly with grade-level teams to review student data and determine appropriate interventions and supports.-Guide data-based decision-making related to tier placement and intervention adjustments.-Monitor student progress and evaluate intervention effectiveness.-Coordinate alignment of academic and behavioral interventions across grade levels.-Maintain accurate documentation of MTSS processes, interventions, and outcomes.-Provide coaching and professional learning for staff related to MTSS practices, intervention strategies, and effective data use.-Collaborate with administrators, counselors, interventionists, special education staff, and support personnel.-Monitor implementation trends and report outcomes to building and district leadership.-Promote equitable practices by monitoring student data for access, disproportionality, and effectiveness of supports.-Serve as the primary building contact for MTSS systems, procedures, and accountability measures.Requirements: Valid Grades K-5 Teaching License from the Ohio Department of Education & WorkforceLicensed or willing to obtain a Gifted Intervention Specialist EndorsementHow to Apply: Send the following information to Nancy Davis by March 27, 2026 at: [email protected].
