POSITION SUMMARY:
The Factory Buyer role is a critical purchasing network position, with functional responsibility for all indirect services and materials to include maintenance spare parts, reporting in to the Financial Controller.
The Factory Buyer’s prime focus is the area of indirect materials and services, with a key focus on negotiating contracts and agreements, working with Corporate Purchasing and the ION Network on new initiatives, implementing and maintaining compliance strategies within the purchasing area, creating cost savings projects and initiatives within services and indirect materials, and maintaining supplier relationships.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the coordination of purchases of all supplies, equipment, and services used by all departments to ensure lowest cost is obtained.
- Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, designate approved supplier (with support from corporate purchasing), assign correct account information and assign requisitions to staff for processing.
- Facilitate team and functional meetings to drive decision making, information sharing and consensus building in support of an optimized S&IM spend.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through monitoring and reporting effective cycle counts performed by Engineering. Ensure corrective actions are taken if accuracy falls below acceptable threshold. Copilot w Engineering to monitor inventory stock levels and turns.
- Ensure factory is compliant with all Nestle Purchasing Policies and perform periodic audits of processes.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements for factory for localized S&IM purchases.
- Engage the plant with key, strategic suppliers to identify cost savings initiatives and projects.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with all S&IM suppliers.
- Work closely with Corporate Purchasing supporting National initiatives.
- Support all departments with any special projects.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; degrees in business area such as Finance or other analytical field a plus.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years finance, manufacturing, purchasing, or supply chain experience required.

- Ability to visit Gemba to work with teams, audit inventories
The approximate pay range for this position is $65,382 to $88,323 base salary. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
