We are seeking an innovative Product Engineer to spearhead our lifecycle management efforts of our current portfolio and product support. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background, confidence to act, speed and accuracy, and a passion for high quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lifecycle Management/Product Portfolio Support: Implement proactive updates and improvements to enhance product longevity and reliability, including revising products and engineering documents to reduce costs and stocking strain without impacting functionality.
· Customer Support: Address customer-specific needs and interface with customers to investigate and implement product improvement suggestions to maintain market share and tailor products to changing demands.
· Production Optimization: Identify design improvements to streamline manufacturing and assembly processes, including revising products for manufacturability (DFM/DFMA), reducing quality defects, and designing jigs, fixtures, and other aids to increase efficiency and decrease assembly time.
· Operations Ramp-Up: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the ramp-up of operations for new products and product changes, ensuring a smooth transition to sustained product lines and consistent operational readiness.
· Sustaining Product Roadmap Alignment: Implement changes and improvements in accordance with the sustaining product roadmap, ensuring product enhancements align with strategic goals and customer needs.
· Quality Support Activities: Support quality activities such as root cause failure studies, corrective action investigations, and customer feedback on product outputs, providing technical support for quality or manufacturability issues.
· Documentation & Compliance: Improve and maintain product documentation to ensure all regulatory requirements are met, including ongoing updates for product support initiatives and user documentation.
· Supervise Engineered Solutions: Oversee the Engineered Solutions Specialist to ensure consistent quality in custom solutions and effective management of engineered solutions processes.
· Supply Chain Risk Management: Identify at-risk components and implement sustainable alternatives to mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring reliability in product availability. Determine alternate components for procurement in certain cases.
· Data-Driven Improvements: Design and execute part or product tests to validate sustainment measures, utilizing analytics and feedback to refine product design, materials, and processes for continuous cost-saving and quality enhancements.
Qualifications:
· Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
· 4+ years of experience in product engineering, specifically focused on product support
· Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools.
· Excellent problem-solving abilities and creative thinking skills.
· Visionary engineer
· Proven project management skills, with experience in agile methodologies being a plus.
· Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
