Sr Civil Construction Inspector

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior civil construction inspector to join a large engineering client's team. On a typical day, you will be observing and documenting construction activities for civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, and pipelines. Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure work aligns with project requirements. Identifying discrepancies, conflicts, or potential issues in plans or field conditions and communicating them clearly to the project team. Coordinating with Project Managers, contractors, and other field representatives to support efficient and compliant construction. Preparing accurate daily reports, quantities, and field documentation using standard tools and systems. Providing guidance and support to less-experienced field staff as needed. Supporting HDR's commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction at all times. Performing other related duties as required to support project success

Skills and Requirements

· 5-8 YOE with relevant construction inspection or civil construction experience

· Previous ODOT experience

· Experience serving as a lead inspector or supervising other inspectors

· Hands-on experience with road and bridge construction

· Ability to interpret construction schedules and sequencing

· Project inspector I & II certification

· Structures experience

Soil and Aggregate experience - Strong written communication skills for accurate field documentation

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Relevant industry certifications (NICET, inspection-related certifications, etc.)

• Experience mentoring or supporting junior inspectors

• Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism
