Director of Maintenance and Grounds
Director of Maintenance and Grounds Purpose: The Director of Maintenance and Grounds is a working managerial position designed to maintain both the church and school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of facilities. To accomplish these tasks the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor must work closely with the Pastor, Business Manager, Finance Director and the Principal of the School and other staff as needed. Reports to: Business Manager Salary Range: $50,000 to $65,000 depending on the individuals' past work related experiences and specific skills as described in the job description. Benefits: Pension, medical, dental and vision as provided by the Cleveland Diocese plans. Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in building and grounds operations. Knowledge/Proficient in
- Maintains all parish properties including church, school, parish center, adoration chapel, rectory office and annex buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of parish facilities. This includes overseeing lawn mowing/landscaping, parking lot maintenance and snow removal. Ability to operate snow removal and salting equipment.
- Follows the directions of the Business Manager about cleaning schedules and ongoing maintenance of the buildings and grounds.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the parish and school administrative team and other staff members.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. Interacts with staff, students and the community in a positive and respectful manner.
- Appropriately operate all equipment and machinery operate and check
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
- Requires climbing and balancing.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
- Must be able to drive a mechanical vehicle.
- Must be able to work in high places.
- Uses and wears safety and/or protective equipment, as appropriate
- Follow proper safety protocols when using ladders, mechanical lifts etc.
- Observe local, state, OSHA regulations and diocesan policies at all times.
- Adhere to all diocesan health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.
