For more than five decades 50 North has helped older adults and their families in Hancock County navigate some of lifes biggest transitions.
50 Norths mission is to enrich lives and support independence of people 50 and older in Hancock County. We offer solutions in these key areas: ACTIVITIES, CHORES, NUTRITION, OUTREACH AND WELLNESS.
What you will be doing:
The Caf Server will be taking orders for lunch (only 4 choices) and serving older adults, tableside. Lunches are paid for before seating. No bills to distribute and no money to handle. Working hours: 10:00 am - 1:30 pm 3-4 days per week. Days can be flexible with Director approval.
- Greet guests as they enter the caf.
- Seat guests as needed.
- Take orders and serve food and drinks to guests.
- Assist with rearranging tables for larger groups as needed.
- Addresses concerns or complaints to ensure customers have an exceptional experience.
- Thank guests for dining in the caf when they leave.
- Assumes any other duties as needed.
What you need:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience in service or restaurant industry preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
- Display a positive attitude.
- Pays close attention to detail.
- Exhibits excellent organizational skills.
- Maintains friendly and professional demeanor.
- Communicates clearly and effectively.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
Physical job requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
- Remain in stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods.
- Ability to

- Ability to move equipment or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to carry a serving tray of food and drinks while moving about the caf
- Ability to arrive at work on time.
- Move about to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to become CPR, AED and First Aid certified.
