Accounts Receivable Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts receivable lifecycle, from invoicing through payment collection
- Conduct consistent follow-ups on past-due accounts and those exceeding credit limits
- Perform collection calls and issue formal collection communications (letters, lien notices, etc.)
- Partner with leadership on escalated or bad debt collections
- Review and evaluate credit applications using reports, references, and research
- Maintain accurate and organized credit files
- Generate and distribute commission reports to the sales team
- Prepare and analyze 30-60-90 day aging reports for leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, HR, and management
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, agencies, and legal contacts
What You Bring
- Proven experience in collections (required)
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and best practices
- Ability to confidently handle difficult conversations and resolve conflicts
- High level of organization and ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or 5+ years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s or 10+ years preferred)
- Experience with lien processing and legal documentation
- Background in credit evaluation and account setup
