Principal product manager - storage

Nutanix
Columbus, OH

Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Principal Product Manager with deep expertise in enterprise file storage, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset for building category-leading solutions? If so, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) -our software-defined, scale-out files and objects storage platform-by driving innovation in file services for modern AI, cloud, and enterprise workloads.

This is a highly visible role where you will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for our enterprise file offerings, enabling customers to seamlessly manage unstructured data across on-premises and cloud environments while meeting the demanding performance, scalability, and security requirements of AI/ML and hybrid cloud deployments.

About the Team

The Nutanix Unified Storage product management team is a high-performing, collaborative, and forward-looking group responsible for advancing our industry-leading software-defined storage platform. NUS delivers scale-out files and objects storage on a single platform with the simplicity, scale, and security that Nutanix is known for.

We are investing heavily in:

  • AI/ML storage - High-throughput, low-latency file services optimized for GPU-driven training and inferencing workloads.

  • Hybrid and multicloud data services - Seamless file storage spanning on-prem, edge, and cloud with integrated replication, tiering, and global namespace.

  • Data security and governance - Enterprise-grade features to protect, classify, and manage sensitive unstructured data at scale.

You will report to the Director of Product Management for NUS, working closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and partner teams. This role offers opportunities to represent Nutanix at major Nutanix and industry events such as Nutanix .NEXT, Nutanix Global Tech Summit, and NVIDIA GTC, and to lead go-to-market initiatives for new file capabilities.

Some travel will be required, but most collaboration will be virtual to stay closely connected with global stakeholders and customers.

Your Role

  • Own and drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution for NUS File Services, with a focus on AI/ML, hybrid cloud, and enterprise unstructured data workloads.

  • Define product requirements, success metrics, and user experiences for file storage in large-scale, mission-critical environments.

  • Partner with engineering to deliver high-performance, scalable, and secure file storage features optimized for GPU-powered AI workloads.

  • Collaborate with cloud partners (AWS, Azure, GCP) to expand NUS file services into hybrid and multicloud environments.

  • Engage with customers, partners, and analysts to gather insights, validate roadmaps, and position NUS as a leader in AI-enabled enterprise storage.

  • Influence across the Nutanix organization to align file storage capabilities with broader NUS and Nutanix Cloud Platform strategies.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and EBX (Executive Briefing eXperience) speaker for AI and file storage topics.

  • Drive go-to-market readiness with Product Marketing, Field Marketing, and Sales for new releases.

What You Will Bring

  • 10-15 years of experience in enterprise storage.

  • 5-8+ years in product management, owning storage or cloud services.

  • Strong technical background in enterprise NAS/file storage architectures and protocols.

  • Experience with AI/ML workload requirements for storage-high throughput, low latency, scale-out performance and parallel filesystem design.

  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud deployments.

  • Proven ability to operate independently and lead complex cross-functional initiatives.

  • Exceptional communication skills, including executive-level presentation experience.

  • Strong customer engagement skills and experience in field-facing roles.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of building successful new products or services.
