Project Manager-Water-Wastewater

About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager with a strong background in water and wastewater treatment plant projects to join our team in the Dayton, OH metro. The successful candidate will oversee all phases of complex municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment plant construction projects — from pre-construction planning through completion — ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the execution of water/wastewater treatment plant construction projects, including new builds, upgrades, and expansions.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, subcontractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and municipal clients.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, safety plans, and quality control measures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and labor in coordination with procurement and logistics teams.
- Lead regular project meetings, prepare status reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Oversee site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Support project closeout, including punch lists, warranty management, and final documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in heavy civil construction, specifically water/wastewater infrastructure.
- Proven experience with water/wastewater treatment plant construction (required).
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, cost estimating, contract administration, and project scheduling (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- PMP, CCM, or PE license is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and construction documentation platforms (e.g., Procore).
