Job Title: Critical Care Float Pool RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Proficiency with EPIC - IV Start - Telemetry Experience - Ventilator management experience Description: Join our Critical Care Float Pool for weekend night shifts with flexibility to meet unit needs as they arise. Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, and Cardiology/Diagnostics. Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Requirements include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Proficiency with the EPIC charting system is essential. Candidates should have experience in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management. Additional skills required encompass accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, and BiPAP/CPAP management. Experience in blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, and central line management is crucial. Nurses should also be skilled in managing patients with chronic and acute renal failure, continuous IV sedation, and administration/monitoring of procedural sedation. Candidates must demonstrate competency in interpreting arterial blood gases, managing dysrhythmias, and adhering to infection prevention protocols. Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure is required. Applicants must also have the ability to obtain 12-lead EKGs, perform phlebotomy, and manage PICC lines. Flexibility to float to different units as necessary is part of the role. Weekend coverage is required, with a minimum of every other weekend commitment. Candidates must be prepared to comply with credentialing processes promptly to ensure a smooth transition into the role. This role involves working with adults and engaging in interdisciplinary support with various healthcare professionals. Experience with special procedures related to organ transplants is valued.
