Hi-Vac Corporation is seeking a full-time Brake Press Operator to work on second shift in Marietta, OH. Hi-Vac is an industry leader in manufacturing large industrial environmental truck and trailer mounted equipment that is sold all over the world! The Brake Press Operator works in the manufacturing facility as part of a fabrication team and is responsible for operating machinery to produce parts from sheet metal or metal plates.
Skills and responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Reads process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up and operating requirements.
- Selects appropriate tools and materials for each job and plans the sequence of cutting and finishing operations.
- Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
- Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
- Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.
- Performs preventive maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or workpieces.
- Able to perform basic machine operation, e.g., operator drill press, engine lathes, vertical mills, iron worker, etc.
- Plan, lead, and execute projects in a manner ensuring safety and efficient time management.
- Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and have the ability to operate an overhead crane.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and
- Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
