Job Title: Surgical Assistant

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 4x10s | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Pay Rate: $48.00 – $53.00/hr

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Surgical Assistant for an exciting job in Cincinnati, OH.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for surgery according to surgeon’s instructions.

• Provide visualization of the operative field through retraction, suctioning, and tissue manipulation.

• Maintain hemostasis and assist with wound closures, including subcutaneous and skin layers.

• Administer local anesthetics postoperatively under surgeon supervision.

• Select and apply appropriate wound dressings and immobilization materials.

• Assist with harvesting veins, arteries, tendons, bones, and tissue grafts.

• Ensure compliance with sterile technique and infection control standards.

• Maintain knowledge of surgical techniques, instrumentation, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

Education:

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program, or

• Foreign Medical Graduate with at least 3 years of U.S. surgical assisting experience (case-by-case consideration).

• Preferred: Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited Surgical Assisting program.

Certifications:

• Required: BLS (American Heart Association).

• Preferred: NSAA, CFA (AST), or RNFA (NASC).

Experience & Skills:

• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures.

• Excellent manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.

• Preferred: Minimum 2+ years as a Surgical Assistant and 4 years of general surgical experience, including 2 years in a specialty area.
