Job Opening: 9th Grade Head Boys Basketball Coach
Location: Walnut Hills High School — Cincinnati Public Schools
Position Type: Coaching (Supplemental Contract)
Start Date: Summer 2025 (Offseason prep)
Description:
Walnut Hills High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the 9th Grade Head Boys Basketball Coach for the 2025–2026 season. This role is a critical part of the program’s foundation, focusing on player development, skill-building, and instilling a winning culture. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and ready to mentor student-athletes on and off the court.
Responsibilities:
· Lead structured, high-energy practices with a focus on fundamentals and team play
· Collaborate with JV and Varsity coaches to maintain program consistency
· Evaluate and develop players to prepare them for higher levels of competition
· Uphold academic and behavioral standards
· Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff
· Attend all games, meetings, and relevant program functions
Qualifications:
· Prior coaching experience (school or AAU level preferred)
· Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and game management
· Valid Pupil Activity Permit (or willing to obtain through ODE)
· CPR/First Aid, Concussion, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest certifications required
· Committed to building character, leadership, and program pride
