Manual Machinist
Our company is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of our heavy machinery, ensuring the production of high-quality products. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual machines including horizontal/vertical boring mills, surface grinders, and duplex mills.
- Perform precise drilling and tapping operations with attention to thread quality and alignment.
- Interpret blueprints and layout drawings to determine machining sequences and dimensional requirements.
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools to confirm tolerances and quality.
- Adjust machine settings and change tooling as needed to maintain product conformance.
- Deburr, clean, and prepare machined parts for next process or final approval.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and grinding wheels for each job based on material and finish needs.
- Document daily activities and production issues in the Production Log.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in line with company safety policies.
- Conduct pre-use inspections of forklifts, cranes, and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Report equipment issues, material shortages, or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior machinists to maintain high-quality standards.
- Follow safe work practices and contribute to a culture of safety.
- Communicate with supervisors and other departments on part status and job priorities.
- Participate in cross-training and improvement initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Production Procedures.
- Ability to Read Blueprints, Schematics and Manuals.
- Ability to read depth micrometer and calipers or willingness to learn.
- Strong Analytical Skills.

- Ability to Handle Heavy Equipment.
- Ability to Work Independently.
- Ability to Multitask.
- Experience as a machine operator, crane operator, and/or quality control is a plus.
