Job Description
What you will be doing: CNC CAM Programmer
- Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate part dimensions.
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Gibbs CAD/CAM software.
- Update CNC programs and manufacturing processes to help optimize machining lead times.
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Generate setup instructions and machine tool lists for operators.
- Recommend tooling applications and operational sequences to assist in developing practical programming for new and unusual machining requirements.
- May set up for and instruct machine operators of lower classification.
- Recognize, report, and correct errors.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Experience you will need: CNC CAM Programmer
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training (2-year degree).
- Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, and operations.
- Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience.
- 3+ years of CAD experience.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Willingness to bring new ideas and potential efficiencies to the management team.
