Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Holding Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS required Must-Have: Experience in telemetry and dysrhythmia management Knowledge of IV insulin and heparin protocols Experience with renal failure management Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (including titration) Proficient in blood product administration Skilled in tracheostomy management Experience in wound care and wound vac management Knowledge of non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen) Familiarity with patient documentation systems Description: The registered nurse will provide care in the Emergency Department Observation Unit. This role involves managing a diverse patient age group, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The required staffing ratio is 1:4. Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency or critical care setting. Key skills include telemetry monitoring and management of dysrhythmias. The nurse will be responsible for administering intravenous medication as per established protocols. Strong wound care skills are necessary along with experience managing patients with tracheostomies. The ideal candidate will effectively utilize rapid response team protocols. Documentation in patient management systems is essential. Candidates must be cooperative with credentialing processes and adhere to compliance requirements.
