Route Delivery Driver
We are looking for reliable delivery drivers who are committed to customer satisfaction and transporting items in a safe, timely manner. The delivery driver will load trucks and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. Drivers are responsible for loading trucks under the direction of the management team, driving delivery trucks, taking product from the trucks into our customers’ establishments, and rotating products in coolers as needed, as well as some miscellaneous warehouse support such as helping with receiving and special projects. You will become part of an established company that serves local restaurants, care homes, schools, and other establishments by delivering fresh produce, dairy, eggs, and other food items. Join our team to be a part of this fun and rewarding industry. Paid training if needed Starting pay range is $19.00 -$21.00 per hour based on experience, plus Overtime is available.
Driver Responsibilities
- Drives straight/box truck to customer locations, meeting delivery windows.
- Deliver fresh food items to customers while providing excellent customer service.
- Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor.
- Work in warehouse picking orders, rotating inventory, and general housekeeping duties including truck washing and special projects.
- Must be able to back truck in and out of receiving docks.
- Maintain check-in sheets and all paperwork requirements.
- Maintain adherence to all Company policies and complete training program.
- Ability to operate (or must be willing to immediately learn to operate) forklift, pallet jack, hand carts, and other related warehouse tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and write standard English and comprehend simple instructions and communicate with supervisors, customers, and coworkers on a professional level.
- The driver is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and write.
Essential Requirements
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- For insurance purposes, must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen.
- Must have reliable transportation to arrive at work shifts on time.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds regularly.
- Must have or be able to acquire a DOT Medical Card
- Must be willing to work shifts that begin in the early morning (between 5-7am)
Schedule:
- Flexible workday schedule
- 6-day workweek, Monday to Saturday
- Flexible shifts that begin in the early a.m.
- Overtime available
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Driving experience: 2 years (Preferred)
- Box truck experience: 2 years (Preferred)
