Position: Registered Environmental Health Specialist/ Environmental Health Specialist In-Training

Division: Environmental Health Division

Status: Part-Time (24-29 hours/week) or Full-Time (30-40 hours/week)

Non-Exempt, Classified, 180-day probationary period

Pay range: REHS $22.00 to $28.00 hourly, pay is commensurate with education and experience

EHSIT $19.00 to $22.00 hourly, pay is commensurate with education and experience

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM -- 4:00 PM

Hours may vary; occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

SUMMARY: The Clinton County Health District (CCHD) is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic

person to join our supportive team committed to making a difference and positively impacting

community health in Clinton County. The CCHD is accepting resumes for a Registered Environmental

Health Specialist (REHS) or Environmental Health Specialist In-Training (EHSIT). This position is in the

Environmental Health Division under the supervision of the Environmental Health Director. The CCHD's

mission is to strive to improve Clinton County by preventing disease, promoting health, and protecting

the environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a bachelor's degree in environmental health, or science

related field (biology, chemistry, geology, etc.), and meet the requirements of the Ohio Department of

Health/Ohio Environmental Health Specialist Board for REHS/EHSIT. Must possess a current

certificate of registration as a REHS; or a current certificate as an EHSIT; or the ability to obtain EHSIT

status immediately upon hiring. A valid Ohio driver's license with ongoing proof of auto insurance and

reliable daily transportation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES: Knowledge of environmental health science and related

sciences. Working knowledge of basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft 365. Ability to

learn agency software programs and operate various office equipment. Ability to work independently

and in a team environment. Skills to conduct routine and complex inspections. Skills to communicate
