CNC Production Machinist

Walor Manufacturing USA

CNC Production Machinist

Step onto the floor of our Columbus facility and begin a shift where precision and professionalism define your day. You’ll operate and care for CNC equipment, keep production flowing, and uphold world-class quality standards while working on-site with a team committed to continuous improvement.

A day in the life

You arrive, review prints, and set up the machine for the next run. You verify tooling offsets, monitor tool life, and replace cutting inserts as needed. Throughout the shift, you perform hourly part inspections with metrology equipment and use the CMM to validate critical features. You keep detailed documentation—shift reports, inspection cards, and route cards—so the next operator is set up for success. Before clocking out, you complete startup/shutdown routines, top off fluids, and perform daily preventative maintenance to keep the cell in peak condition.

Your core responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently; complete machine start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Read and interpret prints/blueprints to meet specification.
  • Set and adjust tooling offsets; monitor tool life and change cutting inserts to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Run CMM programs and utilize metrology equipment (e.g., calipers, height gage, dial indicator) for in-process and final checks.
  • Conduct hourly parts inspections and document results.
  • Load and unload parts and materials to keep production moving.
  • Complete accurate paperwork for shift reports, inspection cards, and route cards.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, internal policies, and ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 requirements.
  • Practice 5S; keep equipment and surroundings clean and organized.
  • Maintain proper liquid levels; perform daily preventative maintenance.
  • Represent the company professionally and respectfully; protect confidential and proprietary information.
  • Support environmental, safety, and cleanliness guidelines; perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

What you bring

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical training (preferred).
  • Experience with metrology tools such as calipers, height gages, and dial indicators (preferred).

Where and when you’ll work

  • Location: On-site at our Columbus facility.
  • Physical demands: May lift automotive components up to 15 lbs.
  • Schedules: 1st shift Mon–Fri 7:00 AM–3:15 PM; 2nd shift Mon–Fri 3:00 PM–11:15 PM; 3rd shift Sun–Thu 11:00 PM–7:15 AM. Some overtime or weekends may be necessary.

Benefits that support you

  • Paid time off: vacation, holidays, and parental leave.
  • Healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance.
