Shipping & Receiving Clerk – Sunbury, OH

Pay: $18.00/hr (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (OT as needed)

Position Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk verifies and maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Additional duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure incoming/outgoing shipments to verify documentation.
• Unpack and inspect incoming shipments; resolve issues such as damage, shortages, or nonconformance.
• Deliver or route materials to appropriate departments.
• Determine appropriate shipping methods based on procedures, routes, and rates.
• Examine shipment contents and verify accuracy against manifests, invoices, or orders.
• Pack, seal, label, and prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, power tools, or postage meters.
• Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
• Record shipment data including weight, charges, space availability, and discrepancies.
• Requisition and maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate forklifts or hand trucks to move shipments to storage or work areas.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience with freight software (UPS, FedEx, DHL).
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong computer skills; ability to query, monitor, and input ERP data.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with various teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong reading comprehension and information‑ordering abilities.
• Manual dexterity and near‑vision accuracy.
• Commitment to safety, security, and proper equipment use.
