Location: Marietta, Ohio (with flexibility to work from St. Clairsville office)

HireNow Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Tax & Audit Manager on behalf of a respected regional public accounting firm known for its high standards, collaborative culture, and commitment to client success. This is a high-impact leadership role suited for a CPA with deep roots in public accounting, a strong background in government and nonprofit audits, and a passion for mentorship and strategic advisory.

You'll lead a dedicated team of audit and tax professionals while helping to shape the direction of key client engagements. What You'll Do:

• Oversee and manage audit engagements for government entities, nonprofit organizations, and private clients

• Supervise tax planning, compliance, and review functions across a broad client base

• Serve as a key advisor to clients, offering proactive guidance on financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory matters

• Review and approve audit workpapers and financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP and GASB standards

• Ensure quality control procedures are maintained throughout the audit cycle

• Actively manage and mentor a team of 4 auditors and tax staff, providing technical direction and career development

• Collaborate with firm leadership to identify growth opportunities, improve internal processes, and support strategic initiatives

• Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and provide high-level support during regulatory audits or inquiries

• Stay current on industry standards and best practices while maintaining a hands-on approach to client service

Who Were Looking For:

• CPA license required

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in public accounting

• At least 1 year in a senior management role and 2+ years in audit leadership

• Expertise in governmental and nonprofit auditing is a must

• Strong knowledge of GASB , U.S. GAAP , and audit methodologies

• Experience with audit software such as CaseWare , CCH Engagement , or similar platforms

• Outstanding communication, client management, and staff development skills

• Willingness to work onsite at the Marietta or St. Clairsville office as needed

• A hands-on leader who can juggle strategic thinking with day-to-day engagement execution

Compensation & Work Environment:

• Base Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 USD, based on experience

• Bonus Structure: Performance-based incentives, discussed during interview process

• Worksite Options: Primarily based in Marietta, OH, with flexibility to work from the St. Clairsville location

• Relocation Assistance: Not available for this role
