Database Administrator

Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Cleveland, OH. You will lead retention‑policy implementation by writing custom SQL scripts and coordinating data‑dependency requirements with application teams, while ensuring database integrity and compliance.

Rate Range: $50/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Database Administrator Job Responsibilities Include

• Implement and support data‑retention and archival policies across SQL Server environments by coordinating closely with application teams to understand data dependencies.
• Develop and execute custom SQL scripts for retention, cleanup, and archival activities while ensuring safe and compliant data handling.
• Analyze and optimize database performance by tuning queries, indexes, and storage to maintain system efficiency and stability during retention operations.
• Lead technical discussions with stakeholders to provide expert recommendations on database changes, retention strategies, and optimization opportunities.
• Ensure database integrity, security, and regulatory compliance throughout all retention and archival processes.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to validate requirements, obtain stakeholder alignment, and support ongoing database administration initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 8–10 years of experience in SQL Server database administration and support.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with MS SQL Server, including performance tuning, data retention execution, and writing complex SQL scripts for archival and cleanup.
• Proven ability to collaborate with application teams and lead stakeholder discussions to implement retention logic while ensuring database integrity and compliance.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $53.00 per hour
