Accounts Payable Specialist I

Summary:The Accounts Payable Specialist I at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Accounts Payable team responsible for accounts payable functions, assisting with managing and controlling financial and accounting systems and process and account for all invoices. This position also provides support on overall combined financial and management reporting and all office administration functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Invoice and Payment Management- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before payment, including full cycle A/P, matching, vouchering, and GL coding.
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms; Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor relationships and assist in the maintenance of up-to-date financial records.
- Utilize computerized accounting software programs to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Develops automated spreadsheets for efficient tracking and reporting.
- Ensure comprehensive compliance with tax reporting, including meticulous maintenance of 1099s and all other tax and regulatory related documents
- Generate and update accounting statements and reports, including coding and posting of receipts.
- Assist with other general office tasks as required, providing support across various administrative functions.
- Maintain a proactive approach to improving processes and creating efficiencies within the Accounts Payable department.
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a related role.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related role.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel.
