POSITION INTRODUCTION:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Health Promotion & Quality Improvement, the Harm Reduction Health Navigator is responsible for delivering comprehensive overdose prevention education, distributing harm reduction materials, and connecting clients to treatment and supportive services. This position is dedicated to reducing stigma surrounding substance use and empowering clients through compassionate, nonjudgmental support aimed at minimizing the harms associated with substance use disorder.

This is a grant funded position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and CHARACTERISTICS :

*High School Diploma or GED

· At least one year of experience in overdose prevention and/or injury prevention

· Preferred experience working with the community and conducting outreach.

· Strong verbal/written communication skills and public speaking skills.

· Must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity.

· Strong knowledge of community resources.

· Skilled in use of computer systems, web-based software applications, and Microsoft 365.

· Strong organization and planning skills.

· Ability to work in a team environment.

· Must have willingness to learn new skills, be adaptable/flexible.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable in accordance with the agency’s insurance policy.

· Ability to pass a B.C.I. Background Check.

· Compliance with tuberculin skin test requirement per Health District’s TB Plan.

· Ability to pass a drug screening including medical marijuana.

Schedule:

• Work in office settings, in the field, and outdoors. May require travel to off-site locations/communities within Ross County and occasionally out of Ross County.

Salary Range:

$18.00 – $21.00 hr.- Range depends upon experience
