The firm is a leading Cleveland based litigation firm representing landlords and real estate owners throughout Ohio. Its practice is high volume, fast paced, and court focused. The firm specializes in eviction actions, debt collections, and the defense of landlords and property owners in civil litigation matters, including slip and fall, dog bite, and other premises liability claims.

About the Role

The firm is seeking a Litigation Associate who wants hands on courtroom and trial experience. This role is best suited for an aggressive, motivated attorney who wants to develop litigation skills faster than in a traditional firm setting.

Attorneys in this role are in court four to five days per week handling hearings, motions, and trials. The firm operates in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with direct mentorship from experienced litigators. Promotions and advancement are based on merit, work ethics, and contribution to the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Appear in court regularly across Cleveland and throughout Ohio
• Handle eviction and landlord tenant proceedings
• Litigate debt collection matters
• Defend landlords and real estate owners in civil litigation matters, including premises liability cases
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
• Develop trial strategy through real case exposure

Qualifications

• One to five years of litigation experience preferred
• Comfortable being in court on a regular basis
• Strong work ethic with a competitive mindset
• Coachable and eager to learn from experienced mentors and firm leadership
• Reliable, disciplined, and accountable
• Comfortable working in a high-volume litigation environment
• Preferred but not required experience in landlord tenant law, collections, municipal work, prosecution, or insurance defense
• Athletic or team-oriented background is strongly preferred

Schedule and expectations

• Typical hours are approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Some weekend work may be required depending on caseload
• This is an in office and in court position
• Daily preparation and consistent courtroom presence are expected
