Senior Buyer

Marysville, OH

The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing prototype and development components that supports research, design, and prototype build activities. This role works closely with engineering, design, manufacturing, and supplier partners to ensure prototype parts and services are delivered on time, within budget, and to required specifications in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement lifecycle for prototype automotive components, tooling, and development services.

• Create, maintain, and track purchase orders (POs) within SAP, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of supply issues.

• Collaborate with engineering, design, and project teams to interpret CAD drawings and technical requirements for prototype parts.

• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate pricing and lead times, and manage contract-related activities.

• Monitor multiple prototype programs simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities and project timelines.

• Support supplier performance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate procurement records, cost tracking, and reporting using Excel and other business systems.

• Facilitate cross-functional communication between internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or contract management experience, preferably within automotive, prototype, or manufacturing environments.

• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and project coordination skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic R&D environment.

• Willingness to travel and work additional hours as project demands require.
