Summary Statement

Principal responsibilities include the planning, requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, system integration, and documenting of software components of complex, multi-tier government systems.


Responsible for evaluating user requests for new programs, modifications to existing programs, and system integration of off the shelf products. Performs research and gathers relevant data to determine feasibility, appropriateness, and cost and time required. Prepares detailed estimates in order to obtain approval to proceed. Prepares detailed program specifications. Develops software according to approved specifications, tests and debug programs for the delivery of quality applications. Creates system and user documentation. Monitors ongoing program and system performance. Provides training and mentors less experienced team members.


The Sr. Software Engineer must be a fast learner with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and able to work with minimal supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Sr. Software Engineer must be able to work well with a diverse group of team members to deliver software solutions on time, on budget and within specifications.

This Position must be able to provide code review, supervision, and technical guidance to skilled developers within the team.


The Sr. Software Engineer will report to the Application Development Manager responsible for the particular application area.

  • Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualification

Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.



  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree is preferred, with emphasis in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Networks, Security, IT Discipline or a related field.
  • Possess professional certifications commensurate with advanced to expert technical capabilities.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in developing applications in .Net.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience developing Springboot and Angular Java applications.

Job Requirements for Sr. Software Engineer


Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  • Possess a minimum of 4 years’ of technical experience in the development of large Client Server and/or Cloud applications with specific experience in the full software development lifecycle.
  • Possess a minimum of 4 years’ experience with maintaining, configuration and security of; applications, database, SOAP, REST, API and Middleware.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years' of experience in IOS mobile app development using Swift.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years' of experience oversee a team of developers. This includes local and remote team members.
  • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience working with Microsoft Office applications and virtual meeting tools.

Conditions of Hire
