Direct support professional

Seeking Direct Support Professionals that are needed in following counties – Franklin County(asap)_ & _Delaware County(asap)

This role will care for individuals with various developmental and physical disabilities. The main duties include helping assist individuals with ADLS, transporting patients to and from appointments or other social outings and keeping patients safe from potential health hazards in their surrounding environment. Understanding and reading individual ISP and follow what is outlined in ISP.

This role involves both direct patient care and support tasks, with duties and responsibilities including:

• Assist with daily living skills such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation
• Assist with mobility needs, such as helping individuals move around their home or community
• Help individuals participate in community activities and provide transportation as needed
• Support individuals in developing skills necessary for living independently and reaching targeted goals such as in budgeting, shopping, cooking, and personal hygiene.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment in the individual’s home
• Assist medication administration with having Medication Administration Certification
• Monitor the individuals’ health and wellbeing, reporting any changes in behavior or physical health.
• Assist with transportation to appointments, community outings, or work.
• Assist with individuals in reaching personal goals and choices life.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of services and outcomes provided.
• Support individuals in maintaining relationships with family and friends, while supporting the development of fostering new and positive friendships for growth.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3yrs experience required minimum or more as a direct support professional working with individuals with various developmental disabilities with experience in including but not limited to Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD/ADD/Bipolar Disorder, Tourette, Muscular Dystrophy, Intellectual Disabilities, Epilepsy, William Syndrome, Physical Disabilities, Epilepsy, Fragile X and more.
• Certification in CPR & First Aid (this must be completed before starting with individual that needs to be serviced).
• Medication Administration 1,2, or 3 (preferable)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. (must have)
• Following directions & instructions when given clear instructions and reading and understanding ISP of the individual being served. Compassionate, caring, understanding, enthusiastic, patient, peaceable demeanor, positive attitude (must have)
• Ability to physically lift individuals 5-25lbs.
• Have a BCI/FBI background check (this must be completed before starting with individual that needs to be serviced).
• Have a Drivers Abstract completed, it has a $5 cost, plus 1.75 fee ( this must be completed before starting with individual that needs to be serviced).
• 8 hr. initial/annual DSP certification. (this must be completed before starting with individual that needs to be serviced) You will have to create an account on OHID to complete training.
• BCI & FBI background Check. (This must be completed before starting with individual that needs to be serviced).

• Employment Type: Full-time (shift 4p-12p Mon-Fri)
• Part time ( every Sun 4p-12a, every other Sat & Sun 8am-4pm, and every other Sat 4p-12a.
