Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our team. This position involves setting up and operating metal fabrication equipment, including laser burning machines, rollers, brake presses, drills, and saws to produce high-quality products. The role requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that all products meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate metal fabrication equipment, including laser burning machines, rollers, brake presses, drills, and saws.
• Move materials manually using hoists or forklifts and secure them in fixtures and tables.
• Align and verify positioning with measuring instruments to determine reference points and compute layout dimensions.
• Complete first article inspections and verify completed work pieces for defects, controlling scrap waste.
• Use hand tools to grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces for further finishing.
• Create layouts and outline sequences of operations, applying knowledge of stock allowances for thickness, trigonometry, and physical properties of metal.
• Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
• Set up and recall programs, place materials, and position the cutting head for laser and plasma cutting table operations.
• Operate vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles.
• May be assigned additional responsibilities as necessary to support manufacturing and fabrication operations.

Work Environment

The position operates on the first shift from Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The work environment involves handling industrial equipment and materials, with all overtime being voluntary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithville, Ohio.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
