Associate Manager Financial Reporting

As an associate manager financial reporting on the Statutory Reporting team, you'll manage a staff of financial reporting specialists. You'll lead, complete and review the most complex accounting duties in a timely and accurate manner. You and your team will work closely with other areas of the company, independent auditors, and state insurance departments to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting. Your team is responsible for monitoring accounting and financial reporting changes, maintaining compliance with internal SOX controls, compliance with state insurance department requirements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis. As the subject-matter-expert, you'll apply your knowledge of accounting concepts, financial reporting rules, industry practices and company policies and procedures to analyze, interpret, and forecast insurance company financial statements. Additionally, you'll be responsible for employment decisions, performance management, compensation and reward planning, and employee development.
This is a hybrid role located in Mayfield Heights, OH.
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting.
- 6 years of related accounting experience.
Preferred skills
- Experience with GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles and reporting
- Experience with financial statement analysis, month end closing and account reconciliations
- Experience coaching, mentoring or reviewing the work of others
- Excellent communication, public speaking, presentation, and project management skills
Compensation
- $84,900 - $113,200/year
- Gainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance.
