Job Description

Oracle is the world's leading Cloud ERP provider and is moving aggressively to gain market share. As part of the Oracle Solution Engineering team, you'll be selling into State and Local Government, K-12 School Districts, and Non-Profit organizations. You will work also with the sales team to work with customers to leverage and expand their Oracle application investments. A Solution Engineer must be able to demonstrate compelling solutions for the customer.

Role Overview:

• We are looking for an individual who has experience with ERP solutions with a strong Accounting (Government strongly desired) background.

• As an acknowledged authority within Oracle, a Solution Engineer has a breadth of knowledge and understanding of solutions, industry best practices and broad business processes. Solution Engineers collaborate with the multi-pillar sales team to design innovative solutions that have industry-wide impact.

• As a Solution Engineer you will work with a team of sales representatives focusing on developing account roadmaps, deal strategies, and then help on executing against both. This includes driving requirements gathering, helping with qualifying opportunities, assisting with RFP/Proposal efforts, creating win themes, coordinating pre-sales resources, delivering presentations at various levels up to and including the C level, as well as other selling events.

• Position is remote, but a resource based in the Western United States is preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide direction and specialist knowledge in applying Oracle solutions to client business challenges. Facilitation of customer solution understanding through meetings, presentations, and demonstrations throughout the sales cycle.

• As a Solution Engineer, you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions.

• Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads or supports all aspects of the sales process.

• Technical thought leadership and innovation on the Cloud ERP platform

• Very strong verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required

• Experience in Governmental Accounting is preferred.

• Experience with Public Sector ERP solutions.

• Accounting degree or Major in Accounting preferred

• CPA Certification a plus

• 7 years business experience with relevant business applications.

• High-level understanding of all aspects of ERP: Financials, Procure to Pay, Plan to Build, Quote to Cash, Projects and Grants, Reporting, Data Quality, and Supply Chain is desired.

• Thorough knowledge of system and application design.

• In-depth knowledge of competitors is desirable.

• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, needs analysis, positioning, business justification, and closing techniques.

• Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication.

• Regular travel is required

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations; provision of support throughout the sell. This presell position works alongside primary sales.

As a Solution Engineer you will be responsible for providing presales functional/technical support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Develop and deliver high quality standard and tailored Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships.

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent, major in Accounting is desired. CPA is a plus.

US: Hiring Range in USD from $45.43 to $85.63 per hour; from: $94,500 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 65/35 - 80/20.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
