Provides sufficient numbers of trained volunteers to offer supplemental service to hospital departments, resulting in enhanced patient care and improved guest relations

• Responds to phone or personal inquiries for volunteer program information; recruits, processes applications and provides position training/follow up of volunteers; plans and facilitates orientation of all new volunteers; assesses volunteer skill sets and assigns volunteers to departments based on skills and need; updates new and existing volunteers on hospital policies/requirements as related to HIPAA, Corporate Compliance, Infection Control and Employee Health; addresses all volunteer questions and concerns; manages annual volunteer evaluation process
• Manages and maintains volunteer database, departmental records and mailing lists
• Works with managers to establish volunteer assignments and special projects and fills volunteer vacancies accordingly; represents the volunteer services department on various shared leadership committees throughout the hospital
• Plans and implements annual volunteer recognition events; provides daily feedback and recognition to volunteers
  
  

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Previous Microsoft Office and database experience; excellent communication and analytical skills; strong organizational skills; self-directed ability

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Prior experience working with volunteers or in positions involving public contact
