Position Overview

The Senior Director of Organizational Success will be the operational engine and strategic partner driving Junior Achievement of Northwestern Ohio and the 5th Year movement forward. As the leader ensuring that vision turns into action, this role balances big-picture strategy with disciplined execution. You will design systems, mobilize teams, and build the organizational backbone that empowers young adults to thrive in their post-high school transition.

This is not just project management. It’s movement management. The right candidate will thrive at the intersection of vision and operations —creating clarity, accountability, and momentum across programs, partnerships, and people.

About the 5th Year Movement

5th Year is redefining the bridge between high school and adulthood. In partnership with Lourdes University, this pioneering nine-month residency equips graduates with real-world experiences—internships, job shadowing, career path planning, financial literacy, and community engagement. Our mission is to build a vibrant talent ecosystem in Northwest Ohio and beyond, ensuring young adults launch with purpose, skills, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Operational Leadership

• Build and implement streamlined systems, processes, and platforms that drive efficiency and accountability.
• Ensure seamless execution of JA's 17+ talent solutions: 5th Year, internships, site visits, job shadows, professional skill training, and more.

Strategic Execution

• Translate vision into measurable goals and initiatives; monitor progress, adjust strategy, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Lead board governance operations, including meeting facilitation, compliance, and committee management.

Team Empowerment

• Coach staff in effective project management practices and provide structure without overwhelming them.
• Rally and motivate the JA/5th Year team around projects, deadlines, and collective goals.

Workforce Innovation

• Partner with employers and educators to align programming with evolving workforce demands.
• Continuously evaluate outcomes and integrate participant and industry feedback to keep 5th Year at the leading edge.

Organizational Stewardship

• Oversee HR, benefits, and employee onboarding.
• Manage budgets responsibly, making financially sound decisions that sustain and grow impact.
• Direct office administration to keep daily operations smooth and effective.

What You Bring:

• Proven track record in project and organizational leadership , ideally in education, workforce development, or community-based programs.
• A strategic systems thinker who thrives on turning complexity into clarity.
• A leader who balances accountability with empathy , inspiring trust and motivating diverse teams.
• Skilled in budget management, HR oversight, and operational compliance.
• Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
• Integrity, resilience, and passion for empowering young adults.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
