Door & Dock Technician – Warren, Ohio

We’re looking for an experienced Door & Dock Technician to join a commercial and industrial facilities team in Warren, Ohio . This is a hands-on opportunity for a skilled technician who knows how to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial doors, dock equipment, and related facility systems.

What You’ll Do
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial and industrial dock and door equipment
Maintain and service dock levelers, dock seals, dock bumpers, dock locks, and related equipment
Maintain and repair automatic doors, overhead doors, hollow metal doors, locks, and commercial door hardware
Troubleshoot electrical components, power supplies, electronic controls, and door systems
Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems and perform basic mechanical repairs
Conduct regular equipment rounds to identify potential problems and document equipment performance
Inspect operating characteristics including pressure, vibration, speed, wear, and other equipment conditions
Perform routine maintenance including lubrication, greasing, filter changes, cleaning, and replacement of belts, hoses, and other components
Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, patching, and general facility repairs as needed
Document completed work, findings, and recommendations in a computerized maintenance management system
Communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, contractors, and management regarding work status and completion
Assist with subcontractor coordination and provide guidance when needed
Follow OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, safety policies, and life-critical work practices
What You Bring
At least three years of experience servicing and maintaining commercial or industrial dock equipment and doors
Experience with dock levelers, dock locks, seals, bumpers, overhead doors, automatic doors, and commercial door hardware
Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills
Ability to safely use hand tools and small and large power tools
Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts
Valid driver’s license
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and understand safety procedures, technical instructions, diagrams, and maintenance manuals
Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills
Ability to use computers, smartphones, tablets, email, and computerized work order systems
Preferred Experience
AAADM certification
Experience with major commercial door and dock equipment manufacturers
Experience in an industrial or commercial facilities environment
Previous experience working with electronic door systems and automatic door equipment
