Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2250 - $2310 per week

PICU Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43205
• Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Float Pool
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shifts: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
• Floating: Required to NICU, CV PICU, ED, Stepdown, and MedSurg units

PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience (CV PICU experience alone does not qualify)
• Active Ohio RN license or Compact Registered Nurse license
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR charting system (minimum 3/4 rating)
• Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers considered with 3+ years and Level 1 Trauma experience
• Must provide 2 professional references (one must be manager or supervisor)
• Ability and willingness to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MedSurg units
• No local candidates (must reside outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH)

PICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality pediatric nursing care to critically ill patients in the PICU and other assigned units
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions
• Assist with advanced procedures including intubation, chest tube placement, arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, ABGs, and hemodynamic parameters
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain strict infection control and isolation precautions
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR system
• Float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MedSurg units as needed
