Leadership/Supervisor Development Trainer - (As Needed)
Hourly Rate: $50/hour during facilitation/instruction, $25/hour for pre-approved preparatory work or during approved training.
Edison State Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the temporary/as needed Leadership/Supervisor Development Trainer – Workforce Development (As Needed). This trainer position provides instruction on an intermittent, as-needed basis for leadership and supervisor development workshops. This role is responsible for facilitating and designing various types of leadership training, aimed at developing the essential skills of emerging leaders. Key focus areas include coaching, communication, mentoring, conflict resolution and reinforcement of leadership practices. Pre-made curriculum materials are available for use.

Functional Responsibilities :
- Works closely with the Assistant Dean and Workforce Development office staff including the Coordinator of Client Relations & Program Outreach.
- Participates in customer needs assessment meetings as appropriate.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the content and techniques, in terms of what is to be communicated, what is important, and how it applies.
- Delivers content as outlined in the facilitator materials.
- Leads and guides the learning process of the participants.
- Accomplishes learning objectives within the scheduled time frame; keeps on track while being sensitive to participant needs.
- Prepares and organizes charts, presentations, and other visual aids so that appearance, legibility, and content enhance learning.
- Assesses organizational needs, creates customized content, and provides ongoing coaching to ensure effective leadership growth and organizational success.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualifications :
- Possesses a broad understanding of leadership development models, strategies, and best practices to effectively train and develop leaders. Such as, Leadership/Behavioral Assessments (e.g., DiSC, MBTI, StrengthsFinder).
- Develop and deliver training on coaching and mentoring methods, equipping emerging leaders with techniques to foster employee growth and strengthen team capabilities.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities; prior training or teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience in curriculum design and instructional methodology.
- Strong capability to build relationships, provide constructive feedback, and mentor individuals to enhance their leadership potential.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills.
Required Knowledge in Most or All of the Following Technical Areas:
- Ability to develop relationships virtually through audio and written interfaces.
- Technology skills for online learning platforms.
- Computer knowledge and applications for presentation software.
*The ideal candidate will exhibit strong conflict management skills with the ability to respond positively to criticism/negative input, and focus on accomplishing the learning objectives.
Required Experience :
- Five or more years of serving in a leadership role.
- Experience in a teaching and/or a training and development environment is preferred.
- Current learning and development-related training or certifications are a plus.
Other :
- Instructor resources and professional development opportunities are available.
- Occasional evening or weekend instruction may be required, as needed.
- Travel to regional campuses and to employer sites both within and outside our service area may be necessary.
- Paid travel expenses are included.

Pay Information:
- Hourly Rate: $50/hour during facilitation/instruction, $25/hour for pre-approved preparatory work or during approved training.
Retirement Benefits:
- Edison State Community College participates in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).
- Based upon the Ohio Revised Code, 14% of an Edison State employee's gross salary is deposited into their individual STRS account. The college contributes an additional 14% which is not figured into the employee's base salary. Adjunct instructors are also eligible to participate in 403 (b) tax deferred annuity which is not cost-shared by the college.
