PCU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Unit: 15 East – Acute Leukemia and Hematology (No Chemo Certification Required)
• Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract (PCU RN)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,940 - $1,990
• Orientation: First week Mon-Fri dayshift; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
• Self-Scheduling: Requests accommodated before finalizing schedule
• Weekend Coverage: Variable, based on unit needs
• Float Requirement: May float to other MedSurg Oncology units

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in PCU, Progressive Care, or related specialty (PCU nurse jobs)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association preferred)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematology diagnoses
• Administer blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte therapies
• Implement infection prevention and patient fall protocols
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
• Manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC line care and blood draws
• Initiate and maintain IV therapy and perform phlebotomy
• Respond to rapid response team activations as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
• Document patient care accurately using the EPIC charting system
• Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as required
