Probate Paralegal

Salary:
$50,000 – $80,000 per year, depending on experience

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Probate Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role supports attorneys in all aspects of probate, estate, and trust administration. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Ohio probate court procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and file probate documents such as petitions, inventories, accountings, waivers, and related pleadings.

• Prepare correspondence, reports, and case summaries for attorneys and clients.

• Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure compliance with court requirements.

• Communicate with clients, heirs, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and courts to gather and provide information.

• Assist attorneys with hearing preparation, mediations, and client meetings.

• Organize estate and asset information, prepare spreadsheets, valuations, and distribution documentation.

• Conduct legal and factual research related to probate and estate matters.

• Maintain accurate records, billing entries, and timekeeping for all case-related activities.

• Support trust administration, including accountings, notices, and distributions.

• Provide professional and compassionate client support throughout the probate process.

• Mentor junior paralegals and contribute to process improvements within the probate team.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in probate, estate, or trust law.

• Strong knowledge of Ohio probate court procedures and filings.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Paralegal certification or degree preferred, but not required with strong relevant experience.
