Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, order fulfillment, and equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting warehouse distribution, e-commerce operations, and inventory management.

Duties

• Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or reach trucks while adhering to safety protocols
• Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately for delivery or transfer
• Manage stock levels by stocking shelves efficiently and maintaining organized storage areas
• Assist with order picking and order fulfillment to meet customer deadlines
• Ensure proper packaging of goods to prevent damage during transit
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks safely and effectively
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and shipping documentation
• Support warehouse distribution activities to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency

Requirements

• Prior experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles is preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
• Basic math skills for inventory counting and order calculations
• Experience with order picking & packing, stock management, and order fulfillment processes
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping
• Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading operations
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments
