Job Description

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment by performing both mechanical and electrical repairs. This position requires the ability to troubleshoot, inspect, and adjust machinery, as well as perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. The Technician will work collaboratively within a team to maintain equipment functionality and facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, and adjust machinery as needed.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Perform basic diagnostics and test machine parts to determine repair needs.
• Complete general facility maintenance as required.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure effective maintenance operations.

Essential Skills

• Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
• Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in working with mechanical systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with 480V systems.
• Ability to program and modify PLCs.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of welding techniques and fabrication processes.
• Experience in performing preventive maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a technical school graduate with a focus on industrial maintenance/electrical.
• High mechanical aptitude with the ability to use all necessary hand and power tools.
• Experience troubleshooting 480V electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair PLCs as needed.
• Experience in repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Welding and fabrication knowledge/experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment features a large, refrigerated plant where maintenance teams are divided into smaller groups. While some areas may have an unpleasant odor, others do not. The company provides PPE and cold-weather gear, including jackets and hoodies. Maintenance Technicians may also work at feed/grain facilities, which involve a mix of indoor and outdoor tasks, and may require working at heights of 150-200 feet. Safety is a top priority, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained.

This is a Permanent position based out of Sussex County DE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

- Hourly employees receive their pay every Friday.
